TWO fire crews were called out to a blazing gas pipe at a Newsome house.
The Huddersfield station received the call to the house in Ashenhurst Rise shortly before 6am yesterday and arrived to find that the pipe connected to the external gas meter was in flames. They spent several hours at the fire, as they had to call in gas engineers to cut the supply before dealing with the blaze. Nobody was injured.
