Two men were taken to hospital after a fracas in Huddersfield.

It is believed both suffered injuries in the early-hours incident and a knife was recovered by police.

Both men were taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary but their injuries were said to be non life-threatening.

The alarms was raised by CCTV operators monitoring cameras covering Huddersfield town centre and police were sent to Queen Street shortly before 5am yesterday.

One man was seen walking away with a knife in his hand and he was stopped by police.

A second man was arrested nearby.

Police confirmed that a 34-year-old man and a 32-year-old man, both of Huddersfield were detained at the scene and the knife was recovered by police.

Police said their investigations are ongoing and they have appealed to anyone with information to call 101.
