Two men were attacked in Huddersfield last night.

One man was robbed and the second assaulted.

Now police are appealing for witnesses.

The incident happened 10pm as the two victims, aged 19 and 20, were walking along Fitzwilliam Street. They were approached from behind by two other men.

After initially making demands for their food, the two men punched the victims several times to the face and body.

One of the victims managed to run away and as the other has attempted to flee, one of the men grabbed his rucksack and both have made off.

Both men received hospital treatment at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for facial injuries.

The two suspects are described as aged in their mid 20s to early 30s. One of the men is described as possibly Asian, between 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall, of thin to average build, with short brown hair with facial hair. He was wearing a grey tracksuit. The other is described as white, possibly slighter taller than the other suspect, with dark hair. He was wearing a blue tracksuit.
