Two pensioners have been injured after they were involved in a collision with a van this morning at Salendine Nook.

The incident happened at 8am when the two male pedestrians crossed Fortis Way - off New Hey Road - and were believed to be struck by a van.

The van driver stopped at the scene and police and paramedics attended.

One of the casualties suffered head injuries and was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

The other man suffered minor injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact them on 101.
