The Examiner newsdesk has received this email from a Dalton man convinced he had seen a UFO.

It’s so easy to dismiss these kind of claims but we thought we’d share this one with you to see what you think.

Are you a believer? Do you think it’s a load of utter balderdash? Or have you had an extraterrestrial experience yourself?

The man, who like UFOs doesn’t want to be identified, is in his mid 40s. Here’s his account.

“I’m getting in touch as I need to let it be known that aliens do 100% really exist. Well, their crafts do as last week on Wednesday, March 9, at 6pm my life changed forever. Well, my beliefs did as I came face to face with a UFO.

“I’ve told no-one up till this point as since Wednesday I’ve been in shock and awe, terrified and baffled.

"At first I didn’t want to tell anybody as who is going to believe me? People would think I’ve gone mad, but after thinking all this through then I feel I’ve got to report this and I think I need to off-load as since then I’ve questioned myself, asking myself was I hallucinating?

“I’m a level-headed person who has always been a sceptic. I’d been awake all day so I wasn’t dreaming. It was real. It was just getting dark and I’d gone outside. In the corner of my eye I saw a flash and when I turned round they was a UFO slowly coming over the houses. It was about 100ft in the sky.

“It was of the typical classic shape of a disk with a dome on top. I could clearly see like square panels on the bottom where bright lights ran parallel to the panels, three of them going round in a circle and it was like polished silver. Part of the dome bit was in like a Matt finish – it was more dull.

“I just watched it sail over this first house then over mine where I lost sight of it.

“I ran back into the house and grabbed my phone and tried to put the camera on but I was shaking so much I couldn’t hit the right button and another app came up.

"As this was happening I’m now stood in my driveway and the UFO sort of wobbled from side to side and then made a sudden turn right as if to follow the road upward and in half a sec it shot off into the distance and disappeared like nothing I’ve ever seen before.

“It was incredibly fast, then it was gone. I looked round to see if anybody else was about but there were just cars driving up and down. I was gutted I didn’t get a photo but more people must have seen it.

“It was as clear as day even though it was getting dark at the time. The lights were like lasers, really intense and bright. I only saw it for maybe five or six seconds but it was 100% a craft of some sort. It was not of this world. It was silent.

I don’t think it was making any noise at all. It left me so scared – I don’t get scared easily but my adrenaline was pumping. I’ve been perplexed and in shock since then. It’s really made me feel uneasy and I’ve been a little scared going out since in case it comes back.”
