ANGRY workers at Syngenta, Huddersfield, have drafted in trade union officials.

About 40 workers from the agricultural chemicals company gathered outside the factory on Leeds Road at about 3.30pm yesterday.

The workers - all members of the Transport and General Workers' Union (TWG) - were from the department which makes the chemical PMG.

The workers stayed outside the factory for almost an hour, discussing how to address concerns over industrial relations.

Kevin Clarke, workers' convener for the TWG, would not disclose the exact issues involved.

He said: "At this stage of the game it would jeopardise what we are trying to improve. But there are certain things we are not happy about."

"We were meeting to discuss how we were going to respond to certain management styles."

The workers decided to implement the grievance procedure set up between Syngenta and the TWG.
