A new study shows the University of Huddersfield has improved in national rankings.

The Huddersfield campus has risen eight places to 69th in the Time and Sunday Times Good University Guide.

It contains full profiles of all 150 universities and the leading colleges of higher education.

The league table is made up of nine indicators including student satisfaction with teaching quality and their wider university experience, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, service and facilities spend, and degree completion rates.

The University of Leeds has been named the top university in the North according to The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016, reaching its highest position ever in successive league tables, now ranked 14th, having stood 30th just three years ago.

Huddersfield was ranked fifth in the regional table.

A University of Huddersfield spokesman said: “We were pleased with our rising position in this table, which showed our strength for teaching.

The University has a growing reputation across the sector for its high standard of teaching, and in particular for a quality student experience, and this is reflected in our climb up the table.”
