A TEAM of international students has achieved silver in a national marketing competition.

The Wise Owls from Huddersfield University came second out of 320 British university teams in the Institute of Direct Marketing’s National Student Competition.

Each team had to design a campaign to attract postgraduates into teaching.

The Wise Owls, comprising marketing masters students Jean Jameson and Chris Johns, both British, together with Czech Petra Baresova, Romanian Suha Naffa and Vietnamese Mai Tran, were picked as one of two finalists.

But the Owls’s Einstein themed campaign was beaten by just one point by a team from Greenwich University at the final held at the Goring Hotel, London, on June 30.

Course leader Denis Feather said: “The team performed brilliantly and we are very proud of them.”
