CLEANERS at Huddersfield University have swept up awards.
More than 30 members of the university's cleaning team have completed their NVQ Level 1 in the maintenance of building interiors.
To achieve the award, they had to show competence in using correct health, safety and security procedures and the ability to clean and maintain various locations on campus to an appropriate standard.
Cleaning services manager Courtney McAuley said: "Quite a few of the cleaning staff were a bit worried about undertaking the programme. But they have all stuck to it and it has been a real success for them.
"We have another 25 who will start the programme after Christmas."
