A HUGE company of students and staff from Huddersfield University have recreated the music-theatre piece, The Threepenny Opera.

The production was at the Lawrence Batley Theatre for just two nights and recreated the seedy underworld of the character, Mack The Knife - London's most powerful criminal.

It's a dark world which, in the hands of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, created a classic and enduring piece of theatre.

The combined talents of students from both music and drama departments at the University were on show in the production, which involved 22 students and nine musicians.

The production was co-directed by Chris Meredith, Nik Taylor and Bizz Bainbridge. Barrie Webb was the musical director.
