We asked you for pictures of Huddersfield's biggest spiders - and the snaps are flooding in!

According to the experts, this time of year is when you see more spiders scurry about - from under your sofa, lurking in dark corners, or popping up in your shed.

According to the British Arachnological Society, they've been there all year - but you notice them more in autumn because the male spiders venture out from their hidey holes to look for a mate.

Press officer Lawrence Bee said: "They're hidden away in corners but they're there all the time - the males are just moving around more.

"They're hunting for females to mate with."

He said house spiders can vary in size, with bodies ranging from around 10mm to 16mm.
