The hunt is on for two men who fled the scene of a crash in the early hours.

They ran off leaving an injured woman trapped in her vehicle.

According to Kirklees Rural police, a local Daihatsu milk van was “hit head on” by a Salford Van Hire vehicle at 1.35am at the Sovereign crossroads in Shepley.

Officers who attended the scene said that the Vauxhall Zafira hire van driver and another man ran off after the collision, leaving the passenger of the milk van still trapped.

The passenger, a 65-year-old female, was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for a check up, but suffered only minor injuries.

Now police are trying to trace the driver and the other man who ran off from the scene and have launched an investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the crash should call the police on 101.
