Victims were enjoying a relaxing session in their hot tub while thieves were busy raiding their home to steal their car.

It was one of two burglaries where thieves forced patio doors to get in.

The burglary happened on Rockhill Close, Batley, in a dorma bungalow around 7.30pm on Friday.

Det Insp Thornes from Kirklees CID said: “The victims were using their hot tub at the side of their house when suspects entered, stole car keys and then a car.

“The victims heard a noise but the burglary was carried out very quickly.”

They got away in a blue VW Golf with a 2014 registration plate.

An earlier burglary happened between 2pm and 6.30pm on Smithy’s Moor Road, also in Batley.

The thieves smashed the window part of the door to get in.

They found car keys then made off in the victim’s blue Audi A3 S Line which has a 2015 registration plate.

Det Insp Thornes said: “I am appealing to people with patio doors to ensure that they are locked and also to consider buying sash jammers (extra security locks) to reinforce them.

“We are investigating both cases and would like to appeal to anyone who saw any suspicious vehicles driving around the areas at the times the offences took place that the suspects could have arrived in.
