PEOPLE in Crosland Moor are to be asked their views on land use in the area.

The debate is opening after Kirklees Council came under Government orders to provide more sites for new homes.

An informal drop-in session about proposals is being held from 10am to 1pm tomorrow at Crosland Moor Community Centre in Park Road West.

Two council planners will be present. There will also be the chance to look at information and complete questionnaires.

The meeting is being held by Crosland Moor Community Forum.

Labour councillor Molly Walton, the forum's chairman, said: "We would like to give everyone their say on possible land use and how it could affect the area, in terms of extra traffic and other issues."

She said it was hoped to get the views of people who lived near unused sites, including the Balmoral, Dryclough and Sandene Avenue areas, as well as in Cromarty Avenue, Sunningdale Road, Walpole Road and parts of Beaumont Park.
