Huddersfield-based travel agent Villa Parade has been granted a high court injunction which could clear up a holiday mix up.

And the ruling reinforces that no affected customers will be left out of pocket but may have their accommodation changed as a result of the dispute.

Concerns were first raised after a dozen Villa Parade customers received emails from holiday firm Travelopo telling them their holidays will not be honoured.

But now the High Court has ruled that the email by Travelopo sent to Villa Parade customers is “void”.

Travelopo have been told to clarify this in an email to affected customers and to publish a response to this affect on its website.

The response from Travelopo reads: “The judge hearing the dispute has decided that this statement should be sent to any customer affected by the dispute to clarify the status of your booking with Villa Parade.

“An earlier statement by Travelopo that bookings with Villa Parade are “void” is incorrect.””

Although Villa Parade is unable to make further comment at this time it confirmed that the original court injunction, which was filed at the High Court in London was upheld.

Villa Parade Managing Director Ian Sheekey said in a statement: “Villa Parade has been trading for over 15 years and has a strong financial base with a loyal customer of holidaymakers and villa owners. There are a small number of villas (about 10% of our portfolio) that are affected – isolated to Northern Mallorca. No other villas are affected. Unfortunately those who booked an affected property will be offered a full refund or alternative accommodation. We will be contacting all those affected over the next 7-10 working days. All other bookings are unaffected.

“We apologise if we haven’t managed to speak to you personally if you have been affected, we will do so in the next few days. For the rest of you, rest assured we will be doing our best to ensure you have a fantastic holiday with us in 2014.”
