VILLAGERS will find out within weeks which constituency they will be in at the next General Election.

Wakefield MP Mary Creagh is expecting a final decision about Denby Dale and Kirkburton on May 22.

The Assistant Boundary Commissioner recommended after a public inquiry last summer that the two areas should stay in Wakefield.

But the Boundary Commission decided in January to push the two wards into the Dewsbury consti- tuency.

This was part of a bid to equalise numbers in each constituency across the country.

They did allow for an appeal and Ms Creagh is hoping that they will now accept the original findings of the public inquiry.

Ms Creagh said: "Many local people have told me that they are against the Dewsbury move and disagree with the Conser- vatives on this issue.

"People are tired of being moved from one constituency to the other. I hope that the Boundary Commission will listen to local opinions and reverse their decision."
