A HUDDERSFIELD couple have celebrated their diamond wedding.
Kenneth and Mary Nasey, of Beaumont Street, Netherton, were married at St Patrick's RC Church in Huddersfield.
Mr Nasey grew up on Manchester Road, Huddersfield, and at Paddock with his eight brothers and sisters.
Mrs Nasey lived at Linthwaite with her 12 siblings.
After their wedding, they bought a house on Prospect Street, Springwood.
The house has now been demolished, but stood near the Sikh Temple and Leisure Centre.
Both Mr and Mrs Nasey worked in local textile mills.
Mr Nasey also drove a trolley-bus for four years.
The couple have two children, Margaret, 54, who lives in Galway, Ireland, and Arthur, 57, of Holmfirth.
They celebrated their anniversary with a party at their home for all their relatives in Ireland and Huddersfield and family friends from Brisbane, Australia.
