A COLNE Valley restaurant and hotel has been honoured.

The Weavers Shed Restaurant with Rooms at Golcar has been named as one of the Hotels of the Year in 2004's The Which? Guide to Good Hotels.

The full title of the prestigious award by the guide is "Ravishing Restaurant-with-Rooms"!

The Weavers Shed is in a section for hotels which have gone that little bit further to help their guests.

Stephen Jackson, who owns the Weavers Shed with wife Tracy, said: "We were really pleased to receive this fabulous recognition, as it reflects the recommendations of Which? inspectors and all the readers who write in with feedback."

The couple have been owners of The Weavers Shed since 1993. Stephen trained at Leith's School of Food and Wine in London and heads the team in the kitchen.

The Weavers Shed is in an old cloth finishing mill, full of beams and character.

Many of the dishes in the restaurant are made using freshly grown fruit and vegetables harvested in the restaurant's own kitchen garden.

As well as the restaurant there are five bedrooms. Each room is named after a local textile mill.
