A VILLAGE school has good-quality teaching, learning opportunities and positive attitudes by pupils, says a report.
Education inspectors were very positive about many aspects of Clough Head Junior and Infant School, Golcar, after an inspection.
They said it was a good school and by the time children moved on they had achieved well overall and attained good and very good standards.
Headteacher Brian Fawcett managed and led the school well and had an excellent grasp of the school's strengths and weaknesses, said the report by Ofsted.
Parents are very happy with the school and find staff approachable.
Pupils love coming to school and their views are listened to.
The report praised the school for recognising and celebrating the individuality of pupils, as well as its links with the local community.
Mr Fawcett said the comments were a result of continual hard work by staff and governors.
