CONFUSION still surrounds the compensation for Marsden people over the big gas cut-off.

Residents are entitled to claim £30 for every 24 hours their gas was off.

Now Colne Valley ward councillor Dorothy Lindley wants to help clear the situation up.

She said: "I'm constantly being questioned as to how and when the payments will arrive.

"The when I can't say, but the how will be either by cheque, a credit against people's accounts or taken off a bill.

"If people want to know what their particular supplier is doing then the suggestion is that they ring the supplier and ask."

She added that if anyone was unhappy with what they had been told they should contact Energy Watch, which can be found in the phone book or on the internet.
