CRIMINALS in the Dewsbury area face a tough time next week.
Police have revealed they plan a three-day offensive against them.
Police will be targeting known offenders and stepping up patrols in crime hotspot areas.
They will also be putting a big emphasis on crime prevention in Dewsbury Moor, by urging people who live there to use the latest technology to beat the burglars.
They will be offered Smartwater kits, which are used to indelibly mark property with a unique DNA code.
This means that if the property is stolen it can be traced back to that house. This helps to prove the crime and link the thief to the scene.
Smartwater has already been shown to have had a great impact on burglaries when it has been used elsewhere in the country.
