Vintage vehicles were once more kings of the open road for a trip down Memory Lane.

The annual event held in Huddersfield is the last rally of the season in this area and attracts a good following of visitors who are keen to see the vehicles they grew up with and have grown to love.

Organiser Mel Munday said: “This is the second year we’ve held it at Great Northern Street due to the new sports centre being built at Springwood. We had 40 to 45 vehicles today, with a handful from the 30s and 40s and some from the 50s onwards.

“We had cars, buses and lorries.

“People like to see the commercial vehicles which are from Yorkshire and Lancashire. We had two single deckers and two double deckers.

“A lot of people who own the vehicles are commercial drivers. It’s a bit of a busman’s holiday!

The vehicles set off early afternoon from Huddersfield and travelled to Marsden where they reassembled at the Carriage House pub.
