BURGLARS have stolen vital documents from a funeral home.

Thieves broke into the Huddersfield Funeral Services building in Highgate Lane, Lepton, some time between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.

They smashed a pane of glass in the back door and reached inside to open it.

Once inside the funeral parlour, they stole two Nokia mobile phones and two leather briefcases.

Documents vital to the business were inside.

Sgt Tim O'Sullivan, of Huddersfield police, said: "They contain details needed for the business.

"The firm would ask whoever is responsible to return the property quickly. It is of value only to the funeral directors and no-one else," he added.

A woman living near the funeral home described seeing three people, all dressed in black, outside the back of the building between 10pm and 10.20pm on Sunday.
