SHe sang to a TV audience of millions.

But The Voice finalist Georgia Harrup was equally delighted to sing to her friends.

The 27-year-old from Lepton made her first “appearance” since her exit from the TV talent show with a surprise performance at Bar 5 in Cross Church Street on Friday night.

And it was a surprise for Georgia as well, as the singer thought she was out for a quiet meal with boyfriend Craig Williams.

Craig, who plays rugby for Underbank, had secretly arranged for dozens of their friends and relatives to be at the bar to welcome Georgia.

“It was the first opportunity Georgia had since the end of the TV show to see her family and friends.

“She has been very busy with things that came out of the show but she is determined to keep on singing.

“I arranged with the guitarist she has worked with before to turn up and, hopefully, we could enjoy a few songs”.

Georgia, who has been singing since she was a child at church, made it through to the live finals of The Voice.

She was picked as one of the finalist by her mentor, Sir Tom Jones, but was voted off on the first weekend of the live shows.

But she said afterwards: “It was fantastic and I loved every minute of it.

“Singing is certainly what I want to do with the rest of my life.”
