A FREE children's music show is coming to Kirklees this summer holiday.

The Magic Postman And The Pirate will be at some Kirklees libraries - and it aims to get youngsters interested in reading.

The sea and ships are the theme of a national promotion called The Reading Voyage, run by libraries across the UK.

It aims to give children the inspiration and incentive to read at least six books over the summer. Those who complete the challenge get medals and certificates.

Children can enlist for the voyage at their local library.

The show in Kirklees is full of magic maps, tricks, tunes and telescopes and is aimed at children aged five to 12.

The shows are free and sessions run from 10.30am to 11.30am and 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

Dates and places are:

Wednesday, July 27: Huddersfield Children's Library (morning) and Lindley Library (afternoon).

Thursday, July 28: Cleckheaton Library (morning) and Batley Library (afternoon).
