A NEW series of walks has been launched in Denby Dale.

The Denby Dale Walkers are Welcome group have arranged 14 walks in and around the village.

And all the details have been posted on information boards at the village railway station.

On Saturday, the group completed a walk from the station to Shepley, via Upper Cumberworth.

In the coming weeks, members of the walking group will be handing out trail leaflets to rail passengers.

Access to the rail station has been improved with footpath repairs funded by Kirklees Council, Denby Dale Parish Council and the Designated Community Rail Development Fund.

Rowena Chantler, of the Penistone Line Partnership, said: “Denby Dale is a great starting point for many walks.

“Not only those trails produced by the Walkers are Welcome group but also those organised by the Partnership.”
