A 10-YEAR-OLD boy fulfilled his dream to be a mascot for England at the win over Switzerland.

Wasim Tai, of Batley, strolled out of the tunnel with England number 11 Joe Cole in front of a packed Wembley stadium.

Wasim, who plays for Mount Pleasant Junior Football Club, took part in a rehearsal in the players’ dressing room before changing into an England strip.

And the young Manchester United fan, who attends Staincliffe Junior School, got to keep the new kit which is yet to hit the shops.

Wasim earned the opportunity of a lifetime through an England Fan Club competition.

Dad Anwar said: “Wasim was gobsmacked. He thought it was unbelievable to be at Wembley.

“His highlight was seeing the players and seeing Wembley as he walked out with them.

“I was very pleased and very proud.

“It’s something he will remember for a lifetime.

“Wasim was very pleased that Joe Cole played really well and set up the first goal.”
