The carnival spirit of the Tour de France continued long after the cyclists passed through Huddersfield and descended Holme Moss.

Revellers gathered in St George's Square to watch films on the big screen - and danced the night away to songs from Grease!

Bev Meekin, who shot the video above, said: "We watched it from the ringroad - it was a brilliant day! I'm proud to be part of it."

Earlier, fans gathered around the big screen to watch the Caravane and all 197 riders take part in the York-Sheffield journey as Huddersfield celebrated hosting one of the biggest sporting events in the world.

They were able to enjoy various food and drink stalls as well as waving flags and blowing whistles to show their support on a momentous day for the county of Yorkshire.

The crowd slowly but surely built up from an early stage to later on in the afternoon when the riders came through the town centre.
