YORKSHIRE Water is pumping more money into swim safety.

The company will continue to support schools in the region in their bid to improve the swimming standards of primary school children.

Last year the water company donated over £18,000 as part of its SwimCare programme.

It helped more than 1,500 youngsters.

The programme is pledging its commitment to ensure primary school children are given the same opportunity this year.

SwimCare has made a significant contribution to the safety of thousands of children since it was launched by Yorkshire Water four years ago.

Children in Doncaster, Rotherham, Settle, Scarborough, Kirklees, Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield and Sheffield have benefited from the SwimCare programme of 2004.
