A STUDENT is struggling to pass his course after his work was stolen.
Thieves smashed into a car on Waterloo Road at Waterloo and took a medium-sized khaki bag containing sketchbooks belonging to Benjamin Rayner.
The 20-year-old needs the books, which contain course work for the Fine Arts degree he is taking at Batley School of Art and Design.
His mum, Nicola, said: “The books are full of sketches, a full year of course work to be assessed.
“Benjamin’s very upset about this – he’s been looking everywhere for the bag.”
Nicola appealed to the thieves to hand the work back.
She said: “It’s not worth anything to you but it’s priceless to us.
“Please just leave it in a place where someone will find it.”
Benjamin is in the second year of a BA Hons degree in Fine Art and Design.
He is taking part in an exhibition at Batley School of Art and Design on May 7.
The theft happened sometime between 9.30pm last Thursday and 10am on Friday.
The bag also contained pens and paint brushes.
