TV STAR Scott Haining returned to his roots at the weekend to encourage the next generation of actors.
The 18-year-old – who plays Nate in BBC drama Waterloo Road – helped train more than 100 budding actors in Huddersfield on Saturday.
Scott learnt his trade at the Rebel School of Theatre in Leeds from the age of 12.
And on Saturday he helped out at the school’s other site, at Shepley Parish Church.
Principal Sue Fitton said: “He spent five hours doing some singing, dancing and drama workshops. Scott also talked about casting and how he got started.”
The actor worked with 150 young people aged between three and 17.
Scott has appeared in Emmerdale, Heartbeat and a Touch of Frost, as well as his role in the popular school drama Waterloo Road.
He will also appear in Frankenstein’s Wedding on BBC3 next weekend.
Sue is not surprised by Scott’s success. She said: “There was definitely something about him, he was very talented and he listened.”
