A man has appeared in court accused of burgling his mother’s home.

Wayne Carr, of Towngate in Newsome, was before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.

He is alleged to have stolen two hair straighteners from the address in Dodds Royd, Berry Brow, on January 11.

Carr is also alleged to have taken a TV, computer console and camera from the house between December 19 and January 1.

The 28-year-old denies both sets of offences.

Prosecutor Andy Wills said that the complainant, Jacqueline Tillotson, is Carr’s mother.

He told magistrates that Carr was evicted from the family home following the first alleged theft.

Mr Wills told magistrates that on January 11 he forced entry into the unoccupied house.

Magistrates told him that his trial will take place on April 30.

Carr is banned from contacting his mother or entering Dodds Royd.

He must also live and sleep at his given address and comply with the Drugs Intervention Programme.
