All four Kirklees MPs spoke with passion about the biggest health shake-up plan Huddersfield - and the borough - have seen for decades.

But what stood out was Huddersfield MP Barry Sheerman's criticism of the local NHS managers behind the plan.

Mr Sheerman said he was 'not impressed' with the management at Greater Huddersfield CCG which governs NHS services in the town and is one of two CCGs behind the Right Care Right Time Right Place Plan .

The Labour member described the Greater Huddersfield CCG panel members as 'GPs jumped up into management'.

Indeed health minister Ben Gummer, who heard MP's speeches, spoke of his concerns about the quality of management in CCGs nationally.

The debate was led by Jason McCartney, a Conservative, and Labour members Mr Sheerman, Paula Sherriff for Dewsbury and Jo Cox for Batley.

But all were united in their determination to keep full A&E services open at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
