THE temperature in Huddersfield last month was above average, figures show.

The average mean temperature was 7.52°C – making it the warmest March since 2005.

The highest temperature of the month was 16.4°C on March 18.

The coldest day was March 4 when it fell to 2.2°C.

A total of 41.8mm of rainfall was recorded during the month – well below the average of around 62.01mm.

The figures were recorded at Huddersfield University’s School of Applied Sciences weather station.
