The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of snow and ice for West Yorkshire tonight.

Showers of sleet and snow are likely today and overnight into tomorrow, with frost, wintry showers and patches of ice likely for Huddersfield over the next day or so.

Flurries of snow appeared in Huddersfield on Sunday afternoon as the Met Office predicted temperatures would drop to 1 degree by 10pm.

Monday is expected to bright but cold, with temperatures hitting a maximum of 4 degrees by noon.

Kirklees Council tweeted it would be monitoring conditions.
