A 34-year-old man who downloaded thousands of child porn pictures and movies has been jailed for nine months.
Trevor Emmett was found to have hundreds of the most sickening images of child abuse on his computer after police arrested him from his flat in Ashgrove House, Elland, last June.
Prosecutor Dave Mackay told Bradford Crown Court today that around that time Emmett was understood to have tried to register as a childminder and had also tried to get work as a school caretaker.
"Neither of these succeeded", said Mr Mackay.
Investigators found more than 12,000 indecent images of youngsters on Emmett's computer together with over 1,000 child porn movies.
