A WEST Yorkshire conference tomorrow aims to encourage more young people to enter professions like medicine, law, engineering and architecture.

Huddersfield University is joining forces with other universities, schools and colleges across the region to help widen participation in higher education, by raising aspirations and developing abilities of young people.

The conference – Access To Higher Education And The Professions – is being organised by Aimhigher West Yorkshire.

Director Jonathan Higgins, said: “We have put together a highly practical event that will bring the very people together who can make a difference to the future success of young people by making sure they have good access to high quality advice and information.”

Keynote speakers at the event include Prof Tim Thornton, pro vice-chancellor, (learning and teaching) at Huddersfield University.
