Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was found lying in a Moldgreen street last night with serious injuries.

Police and ambulance were called at 8.40pm by a passer-by who administered first aid to the 38-year-old man on Broad Lane.

It is not known whether he collapsed, was attacked or involved in a collision with a vehicle.

A black car was seen near the scene and may or may not be involved.

The man was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with serious head injuries, which are not thought to be life threatening.

Anyone who saw anything should ring 101 and ask for Huddersfield CID.
