Wet and windy weather looks to be the order of the day for Huddersfield for the rest of the week.

Temperatures are also set to dip, with cold north-east winds adding to the Autumnal feel.

But people will be able to look forward to a better weekend with temperatures perhaps hitting 17° or 18°, some 4 or 5° above normal for mid October.

Huddersfield weather expert Paul Stevens said some of the rain over the first part of the week could be heavy and it will feel much cooler in the chilly wind.

He said: “Things will start to get milder by Thursday and by the weekend there could be a rise in temperatures with a very pleasant feel to the weather for this time of year.

The weather was a big talking point over last weekend, with glorious Autumn sunshine on Sunday and people grabbing their cameras to take pictures of a stunning rainbow, which turned into a double one at some point on Saturday.

Berry Brow resident Chris Collins caught the rainbow hitting the Victoria Tower on Castle Hill, while Maz Bradley, of Nettleton Hill, managed to capture the double rainbow over the town.
