BUDDING artists from Huddersfield have claimed their prizes in a competition run by a firm.
Leeds law firm Walker Morris runs an art contest every year for children aged five to 11 in Yorkshire schools.
The competition, which has run for 11 years, involves the children painting a scene depicting their favourite month of the year.
Thirteen designs are chosen to feature in a charity calendar - one for each month and another for the front cover.
The calendars, printed by West Yorkshire Printing at Ossett, are sold to raise money for Martin House Children's Hospice in Boston Spa.
Over the past 11 years, calendar sales have raised £20,000 for the hospice. The winners each received a hamper of artist's materials worth £50 plus £250 for their schools.
Twenty-four runners-up were also awarded prizes.
Around 1,200 pupils entered this year's contest.
The child chosen for the honour of having his design on the calendar cover was eight-year-old Wooldale Junior School pupil Frazer Morris.
His design showed a winter scene with a dog splashing in a puddle.
The competition was judged by Holmfirth artist Ashley Jackson.
