Police are urging a woman who saw a collision between a moped and a car to come forward.

A 16-year-old male riding the Gilera moped was left with a broken ankle following a crash with a Suzuki car on New Hey Road, on Friday, April 18.

The incident, at the junction with Quebec Road, left the youngster needing surgery.

Pc Daniel Pennington of the Southern Area Roads Policing Team said: “An independent female witness provided her mobile phone number to a relative of the moped rider. However; these details were taken down incorrectly.

“I would therefore ask that she come forward and assist in our enquiries surrounding the nature of the collision.

“Likewise, I would ask that any further witnesses to contact us via the non emergency number 101.”
