A FEMALE driver bit her tongue when she was involved in a smash in Marsh.

The 18-year-old was driving a white Citroen Saxo as she pulled out of Thornhill Road onto Westbourne Road at 6.10pm on Wednesday.

She was hit by a Volvo XC90 – similar to a 4x4 – travelling towards Huddersfield.

The woman suffered minor injuries including sore ribs and she had bitten her tongue.

The 50-year-old Volvo driver was uninjured.
