A mum stormed into a school and shouted threats after becoming upset at one of her daughter’s teachers.

Leanne Gordon admitted threatening behaviour at Netherhall Learning Campus.

Kirklees Magistrates’ Court heard that she warned principal Joan Young that she would ‘bring back more people to finish the job’.

Mrs Young had refused to let the 34-year-old, who had issues regarding the education of her teenage daughter, meet the teacher concerned.

The court was told that the incident happened at the Rawthorpe campus on December 19.

Gordon attended to speak to a teacher but Mrs Young became involved after hearing raised voices in the reception area.

Vanessa Jones, prosecuting, said: “Ms Gordon was going down the corridor towards the main school.

“The principal ran after her and began to speak with her, asking her to come to reception and sort things out.

“Ms Gordon said she was going to finish her off and made threats towards her.”

The principal eventually persuaded Gordon to return to reception and explained to her that she would not be able to speak to the other teacher.

Joan Young, Principal of Netherhall Learning Campus, Rawthorpe.

Mrs Jones said: “Her response was aggressive and she said: ‘If I can’t get her, I’ll get you’.

“She (Gordon) put her face right in front of Mrs Young and the principal asked her to stand back.

“Gordon was shouting and swearing, she said she would go but bring more people to finish the job.”

Gordon, of Almondbury Bank in Almondbury, disappeared but Mrs Young went through the school closing doors as she was concerned that the mum would cut through the school.

When she arrived at the studio school, she found Gordon banging on the door demanding to be let in or she would knock the teacher out.

Gordon, who was not represented, claimed she was sticking up for her child and was not sorry for her actions.

She added that she would not have needed to bring others into the school to back her up as she was “big enough” to take care of herself.

Magistrates fined Gordon £70 and ordered her to pay £85 court costs and £20 victim surcharge.
