A woman has denied assaulting her friend with a bottle and causing serious injuries to her face.

Sasha McManus, 28, is accused of causing actual bodily harm to Laura Pearson on November 2 at Revolution Bar in Huddersfield.

Kirklees magistrates heard McManus and the victim were in the toilets when an argument broke out.

The prosecution maintained that McManus threw a bottle which struck a wall and allegedly hit Ms Pearson in the face.

The court heard how Ms Pearson’s nose started bleeding. She was treated at Bradford Royal Infirmary and needed plastic surgery on her nose. She has been left with a scar which will fade in time.

The case was committed to Leeds Crown Court to be heard on January 20.

McManus was granted bail. She must not contact the alleged victim.
