A WOMAN aged 68 has died after a road accident.

The local woman was a passenger in a blue Peugeot 307 which was in collision with a silver Vauxhall Corsa SRi in Clifton, Brighouse, just before 8pm last night.

The cars were travelling in opposite directions on Highmoor Lane.

The woman was taken to the Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax, but died of her injuries.

The car driver, a 68-year-old man, had minor injuries.

Firefighters from Brighouse, Cleckheaton and Odsal at Bradford spent 45 minutes cutting out the 20-year-old front-seat passenger of the Vauxhall.

She suffered multiple injuries and was having surgery today.

The driver and back- seat passenger received minor injuries.

A third car may have been involved in the incident.
