A WOMAN aged 54 thwarted a youth who tried to snatch her handbag.
She was walking home after shopping in Huddersfield town centre when a youth grabbed the bag at the junction of May Street and Park Road in Crosland Moor at 5.50pm on Friday.
But the woman refused to let go.
She fell to the ground and after a short struggle the attacker and an accomplice ran away empty-handed.
They are described as in their late teens, slim and wearing hooded tops.
It is not clear if the attackers were male or female.
