A woman was mugged as she walked in a quiet lane in Huddersfield.

The 52-year-old was confronted by two men as she strolled in the sunshine in Fenay Lane, Almondbury, on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident happened shortly after 2.30pm.

Det Insp Stef Wiseman, of Huddersfield CID, said: “She saw two men as she walked along the road and they spoke to her.

“They suddenly grabbed her and stole a gold chain from around her neck.

“We would love to hear from any witnesses who were in the area and may have seen either of the men.

“The woman was unhurt but obviously it was a very unpleasant incident.”

Police are hunting two men both thought to be aged between 18 and 21. Both were slim and about 5ft 6in tall, and were wearing hooded tops.
