A WOMAN was kicked, beaten and robbed outside Huddersfield Bus Station by a gang of youths.

The 26-year-old woman was walking into the bus terminal at Upperhead Row when she was approached by the group.

Police say the gang set upon the young woman, kicked and punched her and beat her to the ground.

She was left with sore ribs, a swollen neck and bruises to her face after the incident, just after 7.30pm on Monday.

Det Con Russ Conlon said: “At this time of night we would expect people to have seen this incident at the bus station or to have seen the youths afterwards when they were messing around near the gent’s toilets.

“I would urge anybody with information to come forward.”

The woman’s earrings were stolen, along with her purse, which was later found in the men’s toilets at the bus station. All the cash had been taken out of it.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0845 6060606 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
