POLICE sealed off the centre of Meltham this morning after an accident left a woman seriously injured.
A woman was knocked down in Huddersfield Road, outside the Carlile Institute, at 7.56am.
The woman, in her 30s, was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary by ambulance suffering serious, but not life-threatening, injuries
Police closed Huddersfield Road at the scene, meaning problems for drivers heading into Meltham frrom Huddersfield.
They had to turn round in Huddersfield Road and drive back to Meltham Mills.
