Woman suffers serious head injuries in Friday night Leeds Road accident

A WOMAN suffered serious head injuries after a collision between a pedestrian and a car on Leeds Road this evening.

A WOMAN suffered serious head injuries after a collision between a pedestrian and a car on Leeds Road this evening.

The woman was at a section of Leeds Road, close to the Yorkshire Rose pub, at 8.30pm when the incident happened.   Police closed the section of Leeds Road heading away from Huddersfield town centre and the injured woman was rushed to hospital.   The male driver involved in the incident was arrested by police on suspicion of dangerous driving.   A police spokesman said: "Enquiries are ongoing."   Anyone with any information should contact West Yorkshire Police on 0845 60 60 606.
